building lunches through community
Convoy is a lunch system that uses friendship and organization, as it helps busy parents make healthy lunches for their young children. Convoy allows parents to make lunches only once a week for five children, rather then one lunch, five times a week. Through the convenience of an app, parents can create schedules, organize their members, as well as monitor any allergies. Children with established friendships can create a convoy with their friends, allowing parents to socialize with each other and spend more quality time with their kids.
Convoy’s design focused on two intersecting issues that came from my research. Parents feel as if they don’t have the time to make their children lunch, and school lunches are staggeringly unhealthy. To create a solution for these issues, Convoy cut down the number of days parents have to make lunch while also assuring that children are fed a quality meal everyday.
This gives you access to all you need for your convoy and quickly informs you when it’s your turn to make lunch.
Here you can see contact information, parent and children’s names, as well as the important allergy information and coinciding color of the child’s lunchbox.
The calendar keeps you up to date on who is making lunch next as well as letting you know when you will be the one to make it.
